Our Department

Earlier Turkish Education Department along with the Turkish Language and Literature Department of Education under the name of a four years education department in 1997, the training faculty about the new arrangement of Turkish Language and Literature Department, with the name of History, Geography and Philosophy Department, along with the Secondary Social areas are connected to the Department of Education.

Education Duration: 3.5 years in our department since 1998  thesis master's degree and 1.5 years for a total five-year combined training is provided. Program changes have occurred since the 2007-2008 academic year, and combined with the formation of a five-year bachelor's degree (10 half- term) has been given.

Degrees : our department before enrolling students in 2007, at the end of the five-year program (10 half- term) if they graduated, M.Sc. (Master) is awarded . This is the total time the first two years (four semesters) who managed undergraduate, the first four years (eight semesters) who managed, if they wish, can get a bachelor's degree. Our department students enrolled in the 2007-2008 academic year, five years (10 half- term) when they successfully complete the program are eligible to receive a bachelor's degree.

Student Quota: The quota year student of the department is  60-65  2004 OSS (Verbal) According to the results, our base score 358, our ceiling score was 380. From 2005-2006 academic year, the student quota was 80, increased to 90 in the 2007-2008 academic year. Our quota in the 2009-2010 academic year was limited to 40 students. 2009 OSS (Verbal) According to the results, our base score is 343.98, 370.463 ceiling has been our score. Our curriculum has been updated again in the 2021-2022 academic year. Updated base score is 368,43.

We have no secondary education program. Our graduates with the title of Turkish Language and Literature Teachers can teach in various educational institutions, in relevant departments of the university, they can work as lecturers, teaching assistants and research assistants.

Courses: Department of the courses taught in the Turkish language, Old Turkish Literature, Turkish Folk Literature and Modern Turkish Literature in four main sections are separated (course name, content and credits, web page "lessons learned" section provided). Students who graduate from our University Institute of Social Sciences in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at one of these four groups are able to continue to master's and doctoral education. Since the 2002-2003 academic year, the University Institute of Education Sciences, depending on our Turkish Language and Literature Master's and Doctorate in Education Program has been available.
